Dr. N. Jarritt (Lead, Sustainable Water Management team) and and Dr. P. Malek (Associate Director) from WSP visited the department on 19th April 2024 to present two interesting talks to the students studying the water resource management module (CENG0060):

• Building flood resilient communities in small island states – a case study from the British Virgin Islands (By Dr. N. Jarritt)
• Water-Energy Nexus: Unlocking the Power of Water in Energy Transition (By Dr. P. Malek)

Dr. Sudeshna Basugupta, module lead commented that both the talks were interdisciplinary and relevant to the course. The presentations were followed by an interactive discussion session with the students. Since the initiation of this module in 2020, WSP has provided consistent support with industry relevant teaching contents on a wide range of topics including wastewater treatment and water footprint related to green hydrogen production, in addition to interactive guest lectures.

We hope to continue with, and strengthen this academic-industry collaboration going forward.
