Easing of coronavirus restrictions from 19 July

Most legal restrictions have been lifted from Monday 19 July – find out more about updated guidance for UCL staff, students and visitors on campus.

On 19 July, theÌýGovernment lifted restrictionsÌýin line withÌý.Ìý

In line with Government guidance and advice from Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵ Public Health Advisory Panel, some coronavirus restrictionsÌýhave beenÌýlifted on campus.ÌýWe are keepingÌýa number ofÌýmeasuresÌýin placeÌýto protect you and the wider Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵ community on campus:Ìý

  • All remaining one-way systemsÌýare beingÌýremoved and social distancing requirementsÌýhave beenÌýrelaxed, whichÌýmeansÌýmost spaces can return to their normal capacity.ÌýIt will take some time for theÌýEstates team to reopen all spaces and update signage on campus.ÌýTheÌýEstates websiteÌýis being regularly updated to show the latest information about the status of buildings.Ìý

  • Staff who have been working remotely may start returning to campus, but we do not expect everyone back onsite at this stage. From September, we expect all remaining staff to return to campus for at least part of the time.ÌýMore informationÌýcan be found onÌýtheÌýWorking on Campus webpages.Ìý

Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵ is committed toÌýlooking afterÌýeveryone’sÌýmental and physical wellbeing andÌýensuring staff and students still protect themselves and others.ÌýYour health and wellbeing are paramount, and we are working hard to make sure all our buildings and spaces are as safe as possible. We are continuing to follow UK Government guidance, as well as the expertise of our researchers, including specialists in health, education, human behaviour and infection prevention.Ìý

ColleaguesÌýwho have been shielding or feel anxious about people getting too close mayÌýchoose to wear aÌýPlease Give Me SpaceÌýlanyard or badge. When you are on campus, please remember:ÌýÌý

  • YouÌýmustÌýstay at home ifÌýyouÌýfeel unwell;Ìý

  • You are expected to bring a face covering to wear onÌýcampus in indoor spaces;Ìý

  • ³Û´Ç³ÜÌý²õ³ó´Ç³Ü±ô»åÌýget tested for COVID-19Ìýtwice a weekÌýevenÌýifÌýyouÌýdon’t have symptoms;ÌýÌý

  • If you do haveÌýsymptomsÌýyou mustÌýself isolateÌýand immediatelyÌýand order a test from the NHS. You should also report your symptoms via UCL Connect to Protect and NHS Test and Trace –Ìýfind out more.Ìý

  • You areÌýencouraged to get vaccinated for COVID-19 and flu whenÌýyouÌýare eligible;Ìý

  • You should washÌýyourÌýhands frequently. Hand sanitiser is freely available on campus.Ìý
