UCL welcomes delegation from Finnish universities

Sue Hamilton (UCL Institute of Archaeology) participated in a special event recently to welcome a delegation from the top Finnish universities to UCL.

Sue Hamilton, who was Director of the Institute from 2014-2022, has now taken on the role ofÌýVice-Dean, Research, Innovation and Global Engagement, inÌýthe UCL Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences (SHS).

On Monday 19 October, UCL hosted a delegation from Finland’s top universities.ÌýSue and FacultyÌýcolleagues, including the SHS Executive Dean, Prof Jennifer Hudson, spoke aboutÌýthe Faculty’s key research initiatives and possible future collaborations.Ìý

Afterwards, theyÌýwereÌýhosted at the Finnish Ambassador’s Residence for a debate on wellbeing.

Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵ connections to Europe are both numerous and impactful - with a community of more than 3,000 European staff, 6,000 European students and 2,000 European collaborative partners - while UCL academicsÌýhave an outstanding track record in collaborative research with European partners and securing ECÌýresearch funding.
