Programme
- Create Your Future City
- Test and make your vision of our future cities and natural environments, using collaborative model making, with The Bartlett's Robert Newcombe. Sustainability, identity, citizenship and other current issues in design and architecture will be explored using an interactive toolkit that supports all skill-levels of making.
Robert NewcombeRobert is a recent graduate of the Architecture MArchÌýprogramme at The Bartlett School of Architecture, and has regularly taught onÌýThe Bartlett's Summer School courses. He co-directs the Ìýin Chile, which started the first Open House Santiago weekendÌýand has built with young people and communities a number of participatory design projects across the country.
- Look No Hands!
- Be part of a collective 3D drawing where the studio becomes the landscape to design and draw at full scale.
Explore the process of drawing not with your hands but with your whole body, byÌý'mis-using' everyday objects and clothes to create new and strange drawing tools. By the end of the day a set of new tools for architects will be produced, along with a new 3D drawn space to occupy.ÌýThis workshop will be led by Felicity Barbur and Kirsty McMullan in collaboration with The Bakerloos. The Bakerloos
are an experimental design studio based in London. In 2016 they embarked on a journey, stopping at collective drawing explorations, playful workshop experiments and prize-winning urban folly proposals. Leaving behind the beaten track, rethinking academic conventions, typologies and working methods, they aim to build platforms reconnecting the public to the architectural and urban realm. They encourage participation through new means, leaving the tunnel of architectural norms behind and laying new tracks for the future of urban culture.Ìý
- Ice Cream Architecture
- Work with artists and architects from to push the boundaries of the building process and discover how architecture can inspire designs for eating. Play with scale, texture and colour in a series of activities, then turn your ideas into ice cream cones!
Produce your own ice cream flavours that are inspired by works in the showÌýand the architecture around you.Ìý
