The Digital Taskforce for Planning, co-chaired by The Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis’ (CASA) Mike Batty and urban designer Wei Yang, has released an independent reportoutlining its vision for unlocking the full potential of spatial planning in the Digital Era.

proposes a transformative digitalisationof spatial planning – a people-centric process which is enabled by digital technologies – to generate better engagement in the plan-making process, enhance efficiency and optimisethe value of data. It outlines how this approach would allow stakeholders, planners, designers, and policymakers to think intelligently through an evidence-based decision-making process.

“[The report] is about the wider context of the digital revolution in spatial planning, and it presents eight recommendations to be pursued by governmentand the profession. In this sense, it introduces a continuing dialogue, not an ending but a beginning, to reinvigorating the profession and its practice.” - Mike Batty andWei Yang, The Digital Taskforce for Planning.
