UCLoo Festival wins Public Event of the Year award

UCLoo Festival

The , a series of events and exhibitions exploring sustainable solutions to the global sanitation crisis, has won the Public Event of the Year award at the UCL Communication and Culture Awards.

The UCLoo Festival was co-hosted by The Bartlett and UCL Engineering Sciences, and was co-convened by Dr Tse-Hui Teh (Bartlett School of Planning), (Bartlett School of Architecture) and (Civil Envirionmental and Geomatic Engineering).

The festival, which began on 19th November 2013 to coincide with World Toilet Day, brought together the public and research communities for two weeks. The programme of events included toilet exhibitions, films, tours, talks and the opportunity to try a real eco toilet.

The UCL Communication and Culture Awards recognise the hard work that people at UCL put in to sharing their research, teaching, and learning through media and cultural partnerships. These awards include activities such as television, radio, blogging, festivals, public events, arts projects and exhibitions.
