Microfluidic Reactor Systems

Microfluidic reactors provide rapid and valuable information about a reaction, that can then be used to optimise theÌýoperating conditions, the catalyst and ultimately to aid in the design of industrial processes.ÌýIn particular kineticÌýandÌýmechanistic information of chemical processes are obtained from real-time experimental data.Ìý We developÌýmicroreactors for operando catalyst studies utilising advanced analytic techniques, including Raman, FourierÌýTransform Infrared Spectroscopy, X-Ray Absorption. In addition automated microreactor systems with onlineÌýHighÌýPerformanceÌýLiquid Chromatography or Gas Chromatography analysis and feedback control loops are developed forÌýrapid development of kinetic models. These systems allow not only to discriminate between competing kineticÌýmodels and precisely estimate kinetic parameters, but also online optimization of a performance criterion of theÌýprocess.​
