Painless Introduction to OER

In this Painless Introduction, Simon Mahony and Ulrich Tiedau will discuss the promise, potential and challenges presented by new initiatives in the construction and delivery of open educational resources.

This will be informed and illustrated with insights gained from , the Digital Humanities Open Educational Resources project which is part of the JISC funded .Ìý

is Teaching Fellow in Digital Humanities at UCLDH, and Ulrich Tiedau is Lecturer in modern Low Countries History and Society and Associate Director of UCLDH.

UCL Centre for Digital Humanities Painless Introductions are a series of brief lunchtime talks to introduce researchers to basic concepts and techniques in Digital Humanities.Ìý As the name suggests, we hope that these talks will be informal and entertaining; speakers will not assume any knowledge of their subject, and there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.

Unless otherwise stated these talks are held in room G31 (ground floor), Foster Court, UCL.
