Our Services

We offer specialised radiometric dating and isotope analysis using cutting-edge technology. Here’s what you can expect from our state-of-the-art facility.

Advanced Technology for Accurate Measurements

Our facility features the latest hyper-pure germanium gamma spectrometers, including ORTEC® HPGe GWL series coaxial well-type detectors. This advanced technology allows us to measure low-level environmental radioactivity with unmatched accuracy.

Our Key Services

Radiometric Dating

We provide detailed radiometric dating of lake, marine, and coastal sediments, as well as peat accumulations. By analysing radionuclides such as 210Pb (natural) and 137Cs, 241Am (artificial), we establish chronologies and accumulation rates crucial for environmental research.

Sediment Dynamics Analysis

Our analyses help understand sediment dynamics by determining sediment focusing within lake basins. We measure 210Pb distribution in sediment cores to reveal sediment transport and deposition patterns.

Radionuclide Transfer Modelling

We model radionuclide movement through catchment-lake systems and assess soil erosion. Our studies involve analysing radioisotopes like 210Pb, 137Cs, 134Cs, and 241Am in soils, sediments, and peats to understand radionuclide behaviour and environmental impacts.

Pollutant Tracking

We trace atmospherically deposited pollutants through ecosystems by comparing distributions of 210Pb and other pollutants, including trace metals. Our services also include monitoring radioactive discharges and emissions, providing insights into gamma radiation dose rates and environmental changes.
