A great and happy department and colleagues, the freedom to teach to my research interests, wonderful students, super medieval colleagues across UCL and London more widely, and specialist libraries only to be rivalled in a handful of other places internationally.Ìý

What working achievement or initiative at UCL (or in previous work experiences) are you most proud of?Ìý

I was very proud that my first book, Officers and Accountablity in Medieval England, won the Royal Historical Society’s Whitfield Prize 2015 for best first book on British/Irish history.
