Three types of studies and trials are available to our patients. All are assessed by an ethical review committee and require approval from national regulators before patients can be enrolled.
Research studies ustilise samples taken from patients, which are then analysed in the research labs to gain insight into the mechanisms of disease and used to develop new ways of treating patients.
Observational clinical trials are fundamental to epidemiological research. Investigators observe the subject and measure outcomes without intervening or actively managing the study.
In interventional clinical trials participants are assigned to receive one or more interventions (or no intervention) so researchers can evaluate the effects on biomedical or health-related outcomes.
