5th Assize Seminar on Cutting Edge Criminal Law

Birmingham, UKÌý

Organised by Matt Dyson, Mark Dsouza, Paul Jarvis andÌýFindlay Stark,Ìýin collaboration with the Criminal Cases Review Commission, and particularly Justin Hawkins

Welcome to the 5th Assize Seminar, following from our 'sold-out' events in Oxford (May 2017), UCL (November 2017), Cambridge (April 2018) and Oxford (November 2018), we are stepping out of the usual sequence of host locations, to visit the Criminal Cases Review Commission in Birmingham. The seminars provide a chance to build bridge across academia, practice and the judiciary, while exploring topical and challenging aspects of criminal law, criminal evidence and procedure and criminal justice. This event is particularly special, as some of the presentations will look at issues bound up with the work of the Commission, including a case study on how the All are welcome to attend and take part in the discussion, though places are limited to facilitate meaningful engagement between speakers and the audience.Ìý
