Description
The main part of this module is a concentrated three-week multi-disciplinary field project, which is carried out after the Easter vacation. This will entail a residential component at Gravesend and or another location. The project will integrate all the material covered throughout the programme in an applied setting, involving vessel and land based data acquisition and subsequent processing. Building up to this, there will be a series of briefings in the first part of the term to prepare you for some of the concepts that will be required, and then in the latter part of the term the emphasis will be on project planning - including reconnaissance, client proposals, equipment selection, and so on. The fundamental principles of the systems used will be covered in other modules: this one aims to give you experience of their integrated use.
