This is the Dissertation module for the MA Education and International Development: Conflict, Emergencies and Peace.
The dissertation module aims to enable students to understand the contested nature of social/educational research (as applied to contexts of conflict and emergencies) and apply their learning by way of preparation and submission of a dissertation.
The module consists of a series of taught elements and supervision sessions to support students to conduct a small-scale study (such as that for their dissertation).
Students are expected to submit an account of their small-scale study by way of a dissertation. This is a maximum of 16,000 words. Prior to submitting the dissertation, all students must have an ethics form approved, with a proposal attached to it of up to 2,000 words.
