Description

EAD dissertation equips students with the skills, knowledge and aptitude to critically examine their final year design proposal to determine the key technical issues involved, to research these and integrate the research into a creative design process. It is vital that the design undertaken in Design Practice 3 evolves, responds to and is enlightened by the research and analysis that takes place in this module. The research might involve surveying, monitoring, field study, modelling, conducting experiments / simulations or developing new analytical, numerical or fabrication tools. The dissertation will require a literature review, main research, analysis and interpretation of results and drawing conclusions, and a final presentation to independent examiners.

Stimulating the development of critical, analytical, evidence based writing skills, the students will take initiative, plan and organise their own programme of research, and display originality, creativity, independence and self-reliance.
