Description

This module introduces students to the key concepts and principles underlying how organisations make financial decisions and covers the theory and practice of making and managing project investment decisions.
Upon successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

•ÌýÌý ÌýComprehend the key financial decisions made by organisations and their impact.
•ÌýÌý ÌýCritically assess the impact of time, risk and uncertainty on financial decisions.
•ÌýÌý ÌýCritically evaluate the concepts and tools needed to make project investment decisions, such as: Present Value, Net Present Value and the Opportunity Cost of Capital.
•ÌýÌý ÌýAppreciate the practical problems involved in making project investment decisions including the practical challenges of collecting and estimating financial data.
