Description

The module is divided into 2 components serving as an introduction to both statistics and Improvement Science methods for healthcare, building on the foundations of using evidence for clinical practice, woven through previous modules on the programme. Using worked examples statistical methods are discussed and utilise the published medical literature to demonstrate both key learning points and some of the recognised pitfalls when interpreting journal articles.

The module will take students through the understanding of what is quality, how it applies to healthcare and how it is measured.Ìý Students will become familiar with the language of Improvement and be expected to develop a proposal for developing within their own departments.
