This module will firstly introduce the concept of pre-clinical research and model systems in biomedicine, from bacterial cultures, to lower organisms, small animals, large animals and finally man. Students will undertake the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 UCL Training Course (modules 1-4) to become fully trained for pre-clinical research, followed by tutorials to aid completion of forms required to obtain a Home Office Personal Licence.
