Description

Overview

During this module students conduct an individual investigative project of relevance to Electronics and Electrical Engineering. The project will address a complex problem that does not have an obvious solution. The project may involve theoretical, experimental and/or design elements that lead to a tangible project outcome.

To successfully complete their project, students will apply engineering science, analysis techniques, professional skills, and project management tools.

Throughout the project students will produce reports, presentations, and other outputs.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:

  • apply science, mathematics, and engineering principles to independently produce an informed solution to a complex electronic or electrical engineering problem,
  • consult and critically evaluate technical literature to support decision making,
  • select and use appropriate engineering methods and analysis,
  • effectively employ project management principles to achieve the project goal,
  • make decisions on their own that meet goals and objectives,
  • employ their knowledge in a resourceful, innovative, and creative manner,
  • work in a safe, responsible, and ethical manner,
  • communicate project progress and outcomes with a wide audience.
