Radiotherapy in one of the main treatment modalities for patients with cancer. In this module students will learn about the different techniques employed to deliver radiotherapy. The physics underpinning dose delivery, planning and treatment will be taught and students will learn about radiotherapy and its application in a variety of different cancers. Clinicians will discuss the role of external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, proton beam therapy and stereotactic radiotherapy, providing the evidence for their use and some of the short and long term sided effects of radiotherapy treatment.
