Summary:

The Research Project is aimed at developing specific skills in a research field of your own choosing as well as a range of transferable research methodologies including literature searching, statistical analysis and written and verbal communication. Projects may be based in epidemiology, for example analyzing cohort or registry data to determine patterns of health inequality or risks to child health or development. Alternatively, you may choose to focus upon mechanistic research in a laboratory setting. The project takes place throughout the academic year, or is spread over two academic years if you are part time, it is expected that you will have started your project by November and will complete the project in late August. Approximately 19 weeks should be spent doing data collection and 5 weeks writing up.
