The challenge

Disasters continue to occur around the world, and it is important to define and show how disasters can be avoided. Describing how disasters are being avoided can support action to address the root causes of disasters, not just respond to them after they happen. Analysis of action we can take to prevent situations and events turning into disasters.

Expected impact

• To inspire with examples of disasters that did not happen.
• To connect with people and teams around the world to find out how disasters can be avoided when we put our minds to it.
• To compile examples to describe how disasters have been, are being and need to be avoided through a symphony of action.
• To share interviews, articles, and links describing actions being taken, and what more needs to be done, to avoid disasters.
