Nuclear Safeguards for NMICs training course
This eLearning is designed for Nuclear Materials Inventory Co-ordinators (NMICs) who manage nuclear safeguards material (material containing uranium, thorium or plutonium) at UCL.
Course description
The Nuclear Safeguards (EU Exit) Regulations require UCL to maintain an inventory of nuclear materials and have strict procedures in place for keeping track of them. By completing thisÌýeLearning course you will learn what this means for the Nuclear Materials Inventory Co-ordinator (NMIC).
Prerequisites
You must have successfully completedÌýthe eLearning course Nuclear Safeguards for UsersÌýbefore undertaking this course.
Objectives
On completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the role and responsibilities of a Nuclear Materials Inventory Co-ordinator.
- Locate the relevant UCL procedures for working with nuclear materials at UCL.
- Carry out monthly checks and complete the reporting template.
- Submit a disposal request.
Target audience
This course is for staffÌýappointed as a Nuclear Materials Inventory Co-ordinator (NMIC) or who areÌýlooking to be appointed.
