Just published: The Inhabited Ruins of Central Europe:Re-imagining Space, History and Memory

1 January 2017

From: 22 November 2013

This compilation of 11 essays investigates how multiple and opposing elements coexist in modern Central European history; how they are transposed from one cultural and temporal register to another; how they emerge and are maintained in constantly renewed, productive tensions between past and present, reality and fiction, continuity and disappearance.

With contributions from UCL SSEES academics Tim Beasley-Murray and Peter Zusi, the volume’s editors are Derek Sayer, Professor of Cultural History at Lancaster University and Dariusz Gafijczuk, former SSEES Teaching Fellow in Sociology.
