We are delighted to congratulate UCL-TB members Ìý²¹²Ô»å Ìýon the award to each of them of the prestigious ‘’ 2018 by the International Union Against TB and Lung Disease (The Union),Ìýat the 49th World Conference on Lung Health.

The Union Medal is the highest honourÌýaccorded by The UnionÌýto individuals “who have made outstanding contributions to the control of tuberculosisÌý²¹²Ô»å lung diseases by their scientific work and actions in the field’’.Ìý

It is unprecedented for a single institution to be represented in this way and is a reflection of the significant contribution that Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵ is making to tuberculosis, lung diseases and global health research.

Prof Andrew Nunn receivedÌýhis medal at the ceremony on Friday, 26th October.Ìý The following day, Prof NunnÌýpresented results from , and earlier in the week had led a tribute to the lateÌýProfessor Denis Mitchison, a pioneer of TB drug treatment.Ìý Prof Sir Ali Zumla was unable to attend the meeting in person but accepted his Union medal .

Our warmest congratulations go too to our colleagues, Professor Katherine Fielding (LSHTM), who received the Scientific Prize, and Professor Bertie Squire (LSTM), who was made an Honorary Member.
